Application Criteria
The senior track and field scholar recipient should meet the following qualifications:
- Excel in track
- Letter in 11th and 12th grade
- Demonstrate perseverance in the face of challenges*
- Lead with integrity and be a supportive team member*
- Be an upstanding member of the Perry High School community*
- Be accepted at an accredited four- or two-year institution, vocational or trade school
- Have a 2.75 GPA or higher
Write a 100 to 250 word essay that addresses each of the following points:
- Explicitly state one important lesson you have learned from participating in track.
- Describe the circumstances that contributed to you learning this lesson?
- Then, explain how the lesson you learn has contributed to your success as a student, athlete, and/or citizen of PHS.
- And/Or explain how you will apply what you have learned to enhance you succeeding at achieving your future goals.
Please, make sure that your essay directly addresses the prompts.
Submit two letters of recommendation:
- One must be from PHS athletic director or a varsity track coach.
*Letters must provide evidence of the above qualifications that have an asterisk*
Scholarship Details:
- Award: $500 - $1000
- Presenter: Member(s) of the Davis family

- Funds will be awarded once the Business Office receives verification of enrollment. If a recipient must leave school the year scholarship is awarded, unused money should be returned to Ron Davis Scholarship.
