Our mission for the Ron Davis Scholarship Fund is to provide aid and encouragement to college bound Perry High School track athletes and allow for Ron's honorable track legacy to inspire greatness in it's recipients. We are dedicated to the advancement of Perry Highschool student-athletes and their future success in college.
This scholarship is established in honor of Ronald E. Davis in recognition of his stellar accomplishments in track and field. Renowned even today as a “track icon,” in 2010 Ron was inducted into the Iowa High School Hall of Fame, having rewritten the record books during his career at Perry High School and 45 years later some of those marks still stand. When he graduated in 1965, Davis held seven IHSSAA and two National Federation of High School Records. He was also a four-time All-American NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) in Track and Field: twice each in the 400 meter and 1600 meters relays (Northeast Missouri State College now Truman State University). Ronald “loved Perry, Iowa and the renaming of the school relays in 2007 from Perry to Davis Relays for his family’s and his accomplishments.”
